Donny Deutsch almost told this story about Michael Cohen on Nicolle Wallace’s show yesterday. 49 seconds into this clip Deutsch says,
“I’ll never forget, Michael was making a bar mitzvah for his son, and he was as much focused on whether Donald Trump was going to come to that bar mitzvah. It was almost like a father who was going to be out of town, ‘are you going to make it, are you going to make it.’”
But it was much worse than that. I remember reading about this years ago. The Wall Street Journal reported:
I can imagine Michael Cohen, pacing the floor in agony, embarrassing his son in front of all his friends, annoying the rabbi, and possibly engendering harsh words from his wife. The next Monday, he probably yelled at five extra reporters and threatened four more vendors with litigation.
The Washington Post did a deep dive into Michael Cohen’s life back in 2018, which indicated he managed to get over it:
Cohen loved to show off his ties to Trump — even at one of his son’s baseball games, where he ran into Melissa Solomon, an elementary school classmate.
Cohen told her that he was working for Trump and that Trump had attended his son’s bar mitzvah. He flipped through the photos on his phone to show her one of himself posing with contestants at a Trump beauty pageant.
“He was very proud,” Solomon said.
