According to the New York Times, Rudy Guiliani now admits he lied about Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, but that he “continued to believe his accusations about Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss were ‘constitutionally protected’ under the First Amendment.”
Brilliant! Lies are constitutionally protected speech!
Lies are the life’s blood for MAGA ideologues, House Republicans, conservative media and people like Donald Trump, who don’t see the difference between what’s true and what they think ought to be true.
Instead of hiding the new Giuliani Doctrine in a legal filing, they should make it their central argument on the campaign trail. I imagine a stump speech that goes something like this:
“First, they came for our guns.
Next the woke mob came for our schools—forcing our children to learn things about racism that make parents like us feel uncomfortable.
And they want to stop us from denying health care, access to public facilities, and other opportunities to people we want to exclude because of their gender.
Isn’t that why we have elections? To see who gets to have power—and who we can take it from?
Now, they’re coming for our lies. Let’s face it—we couldn’t have campaign speeches, political ads, presidential debates or hearings of the United States House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government without the protected speech that snowflakes and liberals call lies.
A lie is just something that isn’t true yet.
We need to say “hell yes” to the Big Lie and fight for our right to own our truth—with our own truth.
Rudy Giuliani isn’t afraid to call a lie a lie—or a dye a dye—and neither should we.
Voters think that politicians lie all the time—which gives us tremendous leeway to present alternative facts. We can’t let our freedom of speech be canceled by someone else’s opinion of what should or shouldn't be said.
Take racism. Tucker Carlson says “being racist is not a crime,” but if he was, he would “just say so.” He has the right perspective on people with a little racism, the kind that Sen. Tommy Tuberville recognizes as true-blue American patriotism.
So when we say this election is about the threats posed by transgender teens, businesses that stand for diversity and women who want freedom over their own bodies, no one should say there’s something wrong with us for saying that.
All’s fair in love, war, and owning the libs.
It’s all free speech, and it’s all protected.
Protect the Giuliani Doctrine!
Protect the Right To Lie!”
